“Tip 4; pay attention! Get into the habit of spending time studying your shot in the viewfinder before you press the button. Look for things in your shot that you don’t want, such as stray distracting branches, people, rubbish or signposts. Often just walking a few paces can remove these distractions from your shot.

Tip 5; including people and animals in your photograph can sometimes add interest and give a sense of scale. This works best if they are facing into the scene rather than standing on the edge of the photograph looking the other way! If you are using people, have them interacting with the landscape, for example walking into the shot, rather than just standing looking directly at the camera.

Tip 6; keep an eye on the weather. Many beginners think that they are only going to get the good shots when the sun is shining, but nothing could be further from the truth. Adverse weather conditions can provide great opportunities for moody, atmospheric images. Early morning and late evening light can also create ideal lighting conditions. Storms can provide great opportunities for dramatic shots and showery weather can provide rainbows and lovely intense lighting effects.“
